Privacy policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026.
This policy explains what personal information I collect on craighancock.co.uk, why, and what your rights are. I am Craig Hancock, a sole trader trading as craighancock, based in Nantwich, Cheshire. I am the controller of your information. You can contact me at hello@craighancock.co.uk.
What I collect and why
Enquiry form. If you send me a message, I collect your name, email address, what you need and anything you write. I use it to reply to you and to discuss work. My legal basis is that you have asked me to contact you (legitimate interests, and steps taken before a contract).
AI course booking form. If you ask for a place on the course, I collect your name, email address and business name, so that I can reply and send you the course details.
Emails and phone calls. If you email or call me, I keep the messages and notes needed to deal with your request.
Website visits. I count visits to the site using a privacy-friendly tool that does not use cookies and does not store information that identifies you.
Newsletters. I only send marketing emails if you tell me you want them. If you do, I use Mailchimp to send them, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
Spam protection
The forms use Google reCAPTCHA to block spam. Google receives technical information such as your IP address when a page with a form loads, and may set a cookie. See my cookie policy. The cookie banner on this site is provided by the Real Cookie Banner plugin, which stores your cookie choice on your device.
Who sees your information
Only me and the services that help me run the site: my web host and email provider (IONOS), Google (the reCAPTCHA spam check), and Mailchimp if you sign up to emails. I do not sell your information or share it for advertising.
How long I keep it
I keep enquiries for up to two years after we last spoke. If we work together, I keep the records I need for my accounts for as long as the law requires, which is currently six years.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information I hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, object to how I use it, or ask me to stop sending you emails. Email me and I will reply within a month. If you are unhappy with how I handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
